* Spirituality *Intuition *Exercise - Qigong & Miridians

I started Qigong on 25th October in Umina. I’m obviously not very good yet, as have only been twice. In an effort to hasten the pace of learning (and so I don’t look like some kind of dying chicken while doing the moves) I decided that I would have a look on YouTube and potentially practice at home. I ended up on a Qigong practice for improving lungs and immune system.

I did the home practice last Tuesday. It was strange, not like the session I had been to (I had only been to one at that stage). The woman was rubbing her thumbs a lot and talking about the lung meridian. I had heard the term meridian before but had never looked into it. It was now on my mind to review at some stage.

A day later, last Wednesday, I went for my usual Kate Reiki appointment. I mentioned nothing about my home practice or curiosity about meridians. During the session Kate started doing something she had never done before, she spent quite a bit of time rubbing my thumbs. Hmmm, coincidence…. I think not….. After the session Kate started talking to me about meridians and I piped up about my experience the day before. Obviously meridians are important!

I’m kind of getting my head around the concept of Qi (sounds like Chi) running around my body. The translation of Qi is “vital life force”. Qi is everywhere. It is in our food and water and it is energy that flows through us along meridian points of the body. When Qi is out of balance it causes human suffering both physically and/or mentally.

Based on my rudimentary understanding I’m kind of figuring that my Qi is in intensive care on life support.

Traditional Chinese Medicine tries to balance Qi in various ways. One way, that I have tried previously (but not for Scleroderma) is Acupuncture.

Now getting someone to stick needles into me is on my to do list.
