*Remedies *Intuition - The Wrong Type of Doctor
Now the content of this post made me question what my purpose is all about. I mean, does “Create My Cure” mean all naturally, no standard medical intervention? While this is what I originally thought it meant, I have now come to see that standard Western medicine is also part of the big picture. I’m being guided by higher forces, and if a standard Western approach is best, then it would make sense for these forces to guide me in that direction. Lets say that the cure for XYZ disease was found growing in algae on canal rocks in Holland. I’m guessing that quite a few synchronicities would be required by an individual before they took a flight and started licking rocks in a foreign canal. So, I’m grateful that research is being done and that sometimes Universe can guide you towards an easier, pharmaceutical, canal rock slime tablet instead.
Now that I’m happy that using Western Medicine does not negate my project, it comes down to the point “Where would the Universe direct me for standard medicine?” If you get Scleroderma you are supposed to go to a specialist Rheumatologist - correct?!?! Well, possibly not! About 6-8 months ago I was getting multiple synchronicities about a particular Gastroenterologist called Professor Borody. Here is my synchrolist, timing to the best of my recollection:
A friend was talking about Professor Borody in relation to her health. Nothing related to me.
A few months later, a different friend was talking to me about how her friend had a faecal transplant and it had changed her life (gross, I know). I asked to talk to her friend as I was interested in the topic, due to me doing research on disease and finding out it often starts with the gut. Turns out she saw a Professor Borody at the Centre of Digestive Diseases in Sydney.
A few days later I had a tradie over and he said his wife goes to see a guy called Professor Borody. I was starting to think it was a bit weird, all the times I had heard his name, however he was a Gastroenterologist not what I needed.
Shortly after, I was clicking through Facebook articles on Covid and there was an article about how a Gastroenterologist called Professor Borody was pushing a Covid treatment that the government was ignoring. I clicked into the comments, as there are usually some good ones where people try to skin others alive with their words - all trying to appear more intelligent that the other. The first comment I read was “Why is a gastroenterologist commenting on Covid, lungs have nothing to do with his speciality?”. There was a reply to this comment, apparently by a friend of Professor Borody, stating how incredibly intelligent the Professor is and that he has a special interest in respiratory illnesses (it is a side passion).
My interest was tweaked. There was the lung connection! I excitedly phoned up to make a booking, only to be told he was not taking on any new patients and I had to see someone else. I felt deflated at the time, as I did not want to see anyone else. I said “don’t worry about it, I don’t want to see anyone else” and left it at that. I was a tad confused as I had had all those synchronicities. Eh, who was I to question things. If it was not meant to be it would not happen. I was not going to push.
A month or so later, out of the blue, I received a call saying that they had made an appointment for me with Professor Borody. Very strange and unexpected. Again, who am I to say that this isn’t the way. So I took the appointment which was about 6 months in the future.
Over the months I kept thinking: “Why am I going to see a Gastroenterologist, he is going to think I’m nuts and just dismiss me, I should just cancel”…. but I didn’t. As the date got closer I was thinking - “What am I going to talk to him about?” - I really had no clue.
Then, a few weeks ago, and unrelated to above, I was thinking that I could possibly improve my lung function by taking up swimming again. I googled “Swimming Scleroderma” to see what I could find. One of the first few articles was entitled “Swimming star symptom free after diagnosis of scleroderma” so of course I clicked on it.
The article was about a girl who was put on a common acne antibiotic, Minocin, and all her Scleroderma symptoms went away. Well, knowing what I know about the gut, there would be no way I would take a long term antibiotic unless it was under the care of a pretty progressive Gastroenterologist. Um, kind of like, um, THE ONE I HAD AN APPOINTMENT WITH IN A FEW WEEKS. BINGO!! - I knew what to talk to him about.
Well, my initial phone consultation with Professor Borody was today. I went through my history and how many of my symptoms started after a bout of Strep Throat in 2018 for which I was prescribed a strong antibiotic. Apart from my thyroid jumping around, one of the first symptoms was everything in my gut coming out of my gut without my knowledge that anything needed to come out of my gut at the relevant point in time (luckily happened at home) - sorry - that is the nicest way I can write about the incident. Professor Borody asked me what Gastroenterologist I went to when this happened. My response “none, the doctor just told me to take probiotic tablets”. He was horrified!
I then asked my question, about the antibiotic Minocin and what I had randomly come across. The Professor, in a very matter of fact manner said that this was correct and he had all the research right there, as he was also a Rheumatologist (or had a special interest in the area). BINGO AGAIN - there is the Rheumatologist connection. Professor Borody also suggested I look at The Road Back Foundation, full of stories of people helped by Minocin.
I do wonder why the previous Rheumatologists I have seen, one a Professor and one an Associate Professor, did not suggest this course of action. It’s not possible to find out without bruising ego’s.
Professor Borody urgently organised for me to get an Panendoscopy and Colonoscopy next Tuesday. He will do poo tests when needed. He will prescribe the long term antibiotics and, when the time is right, may have to organise a poo transplant. I was in a whirlwind. I was kind of expecting him to say “Why are you talking to me about this, this is not my area”. This is not what I got. I was speaking to one of the best cutting edge doctors in Australia, and I knew it!
The Professor was nearly 2 hours late for our consultation and, probably because of this was quite curt. He asked me questions such as “What and when were your first symptoms?” and when my reply was “It started shortly after my thyroid went crazy” he snapped “I SAID SYMPTOMS, THAT IS NOT A SYMPTOM”. So I had to keep answers quick and to the point. To be honest, he scared the crap out of me (perhaps I can just talk to him again before the colonoscopy instead of the standard laxative preparation).
When I told Jason about this later he giggled and said “I don’t suppose you told him that Angels or God told you to go and see him”. Hmmm, smartarse - I think not.
I always classify my posts into the relevant Create My Cure categories ie Action / Food / Shadow Work / Positivity / Exercise / Purpose / Spirituality / Remedies / Intuition / Support. I was trying to work out where to categorise Faecal Transplants, well, hey, its kind of like a probiotic (albeit unprocessed) and it just goes into a different hole….. THEREFORE REMEDY IT IS.
Stay tuned for more information on my progress.
