*Action - Stop Procrastinating!!!
I thought I would share a typical thought process when it comes to writing after a long break. The vibration around it is not as high, due to the break, so it takes a bit of effort to get started… elevate the vibration again!
I had set aside Sunday afternoon to write, as it has been a long while. I ended up just laying on the lounge thinking “I’ll do it after this show!”. Surprisingly it did not happen yesterday so this morning I was determined to write! Brain then said: “First I need to clean the kitchen and do the washing”. I did an extra thorough job. That’s ok, I still had time. As long as I start by 9am I can get all my writing done and then my work. I was hanging out the clothes on the line, doing a more superior job than normal ie two pegs on each item (normally i’m lazy and just throw it up there and if it gets one peg its lucky)….. The system works well unless a wind comes up. But today, two pegs it was.
I was then distracted…. Mid peg, I noticed my nearby blueberry bush was full of flowers. I also noticed that the bush was inside fine netting used to keep out the bush turkeys. Well, of course, I had an issue. How would the pollinators come in. I stopped hanging out the washing and changed to blueberry pollination mode. I could have changed the netting to a large holed net quite quickly (allowing the pollinators in) but decided on a different option. I needed to find a paintbrush and pollinate the blueberry flowers myself.
I raced inside and burrowed in the spare room and found a set of paint brushes that were quite nice. I decided on my target brush and took said brush into the bedroom and sliced off most of the bristles with nail clippers. I set off into the back yard and sat down and started to pollinate. It was not working!! The bristles were too soft and kept on bending. I groaned, discarded this paint brush and headed back in and chose a stiffer brush. I then replicated the same procedure and cut off most of the bristles and headed back outside. I sat back down and started again.
I had no idea what I was doing, or if it would be successful. Many of the bastard little flowers just flicked off. The entry was small… i’m guessing probably designed for bees little pokey arms or legs, or whatever they stick into the flower as pollen extractors. I am large and clumsy, when it comes to the process. After about 1/2 and hour, only having dealt with about 30 flowers, I decided to give up and go back to the washing.
Upon finishing the washing, and substantially after my required start time, I yelled at myself mentally “GET UPSTAIRS AND START WRITING!!”.
So, now I am here! Two paint brushes down, probably worth $2 each and 1/2 hour of my time at $80 per hour. So let’s say $44 in total…. Another thought… You can buy a lot of blueberries for $44!
I had to force myself to come in here and start. I need to raise the vibration again, get the momentum train going!
The reason why I was not writing in the last few months is the absolutely manic July and August I have had. All spirituality, food, intuition, self care blah blah blah went out the window. The beginning of my busiest time of the work year is 1st July. The biggest deadline of the year is 25th August. A lot has to happen during that time. On the 1st of July this year, I was gearing myself up for all the things that needed to be done. I created my giant spreadsheet with all items that needed to be ticked off. Whilst doing this I received a call from my computer technician Wayne, who also helps my dad out. Wayne said “We have a problem!”. After some explanation from him, and my complete look of horror at hearing the information, I dropped all work, called my brother for an emergency trip to dad’s house (for me over an hour away).
My dad had been hacked. Not only was he hacked, but they had accessed a file, on his desktop, called “Passwords”. Surprisingly said file required no password to access. The hackers had also called dad saying they required him to give the code(s) that had been sent to his phone (which he did). Holy shit!!! His entire life was open!!! My dad is so trusting!
Tony and I raced over. When I arrived my brother was on the phone shutting everything down and Wayne was at the computer working out where the hackers had been. Dealing with call centres was an interesting process as the customer service people required my father to give authority to let them talk to us. They talk fast, dad requires a bit more time to understand. They won’t let us coach him. There was a lot of getting dad to copy what we were saying by nodding and lip sync or us writing notes and holding them up and telling him what to say.
Very luckily, the bank had noticed something going on and had frozen all accounts.
Dad agreed to give us financial control from this point onwards.
Things progressed further, as it became apparent that dad was struggling in more areas than finance. Not sure if I mentioned in another post but he left a shopping centre a few months earlier and caused $50,000 damage. I’m actually quite impressed really. He left Westfields Chatswood via an upper carpark outside ramp. On his decent he took out two yellow metal bollards; part of the concrete wall guttering; a ticket booth and a boom gate before running into a tree. He was unharmed. We can’t be sure what really happened as dad says “I put my foot on the break and the car just went faster and faster”. We decided it was not worth forensically investigating the mangled car to prove this scenario. The security guard, at the scene, apparently said “I can’t wait to get inside to see that footage!!”. I wouldn’t mind seeing it as well. To be honest, I kind of like that his last day driving went out with a bang (without any injuries).
Dad happily agreed to move into a brand new nursing home 7 minutes from my home. Mum moved in as well. The last few months have been dealing with emptying the home which was purchased in 1969; relocating dad; relocating my daughter who lived there as well; painting and getting the home ready for real estate inspections; dealing with my dads numerous medical appointments and sorting out getting back items that my dad loses regularly ie hearing aid; phone; wallet all in the space of 3 weeks. Dad now looks like an aged Inspector Gadget as I have pull out lanyards attaching his phone and his wallet to his pants. He also has a lanyard with keys around his neck. I’m trying to think of a way to strap his hearing aids to his head but all I can think of is gaffa tape and I think that may be elder abuse… I need to do further research here.
We were all absolutely exhausted when the property finally went onto the market a week ago.
So now I’m writing again, building the vibration back up. I have much more to say…. for later today!
